Stephanie, owner and trainer of Crown Korhel Equestrian, was one of 50 trainers selected to participate in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Western Challenge 2009. Big Congratulations. 90 days to take a wild, untouched mustang mare and train her to be a solid riding horse and competitor.

Acacia and Stephanie finish in the top 20! Congratulations!!!

Why Train this Way

Now whether you have a horse you want to take to shows, trail ride, or just have a great companion, calm relaxed training will get you there. The horse will learn what you are asking him and be more willing and confident to do so, in turn creating a more enjoyable partnership for the both of you.

How to be successful

By working with the horse you accomplish so much more than struggling, pushing, forcefulness, and intimidation. You will learn right along side your horse the new skills that you will carry for a life time. When a horse gets frustrated they tend to rebel and reject what the rider is asking him, which can quickly become a dangerous situation for all those involved or around you. We try to eliminate that immediately. While some trainers can get horses where they want them to be in very little time, it can cause sourness in the horse towards it's job. Pushing to hard to fast can also cause major physical damage to joints, backs, and feet, not to mention the mental baggage the horse is now forced to carry. When a horse has been damaged physically or mentally it can take a long time to recuperate, some horses are NEVER the same. This can be a result of "cowboying" a horse, beating on, exhausting a horse, always using negative reinforcement, harsh voices and/or commands.  We establish a real trust between horse, rider, and trainer, so there will be no more question of confidence!
